The decline of the second Athenian alliance

The decline of the second Athenian alliance

In the forth century ,Athens wanted to punish the Persians

She created an alliance among the Islands of Aegium

The aim was to protect the coast of the cities of Minor Asia

This attempt failed  for two basic reasons

The Athenian government did not give enough money

To be organized military

And Sparta pushed Theba and Corinth to attack Athens
